07 August 2018

Reserves and cadets from Northern Ireland can be extremely proud of their achievement in completing the 2018 Nijmegen Marches in the Netherlands.

Air Cadets from Northern Ireland Wing and reservists from 253 (North Irish) Medical Regiment and 2nd Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment were amongst the 45,000 participants who took part from across the World.

The Nijmegen Marches have long been recognised as an excellent training event, in which teams have to exhibit a variety of military competences, including leadership, man-management and teamwork, together with physical and mental ability. In addition, the British Military are rightly held in high esteem by the military staffs of the other participating nations. Participants are required to march approximately 40km over different routes on each of the four marching days. On completion of the 4 days all participants get to take part in the traditional end of competition march past.

Congratulations to all those who took amazing achievement!
