26 March 2019

March 19 saw reservists from 253 (NI) Medical Regiment attend the Reservist Environmental Health Officers’ study weekend held at Defence Medical Services, Whittington, Staffordshire. This has always proven to be a great opportunity to meet up with colleagues, discussions included topics such as Cadre update, defence engagement, career pathways, deployment requirements, vector control and presentations on experiences on Op RUMAN and Ex Saif Sareea.

253 (North Irish) Medical Regiment is an Army Reserve medical unit located in Northern Ireland which offers exciting part-time opportunities for many health care professionals and those who are interested in gaining unique medical skills. The unit specialises in providing the very highest standards of emergency medicine and healthcare for soldiers on operations, with additional opportunities for supporting roles such as chefs, mechanics and drivers.

Training to become a Combat Medical Technician will equip you with the skills needed to provide expert front line emergency medical care, whilst professionally qualified doctors and nurses deliver an extensive array of services ranging from emergency medicine through to secondary healthcare in high-tech specialist medical facilities.
