Northern Ireland

10 April 2019

On Saturday the 6th of April the weather was perfect as Northern Ireland's army cadets arrived at Altcar in good spirits for the National Rugby Competition. The 3 teams coached by 2n bn RSMI Rainey, SSI Crawford and SI Robinson had briefed the teams and were all set for a great day of rugby. The girls’ team had been short of players and agreed to join up with the Scottish girls and played as a joint NI/Scottish team and had instantly gelled together and got off to a winning start, playing as a joint team means both sets of players can wear both NI and Scottish colours on their blanking plate. All 3 teams played some excellent rugby and all finished 3rd. A big mention to CPL Brown, Dunmore Det, D Company, who was awarded best senior player!
